The history between Japan and Korea is a long and bloody one. Mainly involving Japan penetrating Korea again and again (no pun intended).
As early as the 16th century, the figure of Toyotomi Hideyoshi emerges as a pivotal player in the narrative injustice of Japan invading Korea. His ambitions extended beyond the borders of Japan, leading to a significant chapter known as the Imjin War or the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592–1598). This marked a dark period characterized by Japan's aggressive expansionist endeavors clashing with Korea's resolute resistance. These conflicts reminds us that local animosities can be shaped over centuries and endure long after the people who fought are dead and buried. Events of the past have shaped the complex relationship between theses two intriguing nations.
